There are 2 basic policy covers, the Premier cover giving a comprehensive hardware maintenance, providing a wide cover using our principal recommended engineers, all giving a proven high level of service. Brief details follow:
Basic cover
- Hardware breakdown or adjustment of any part of your configuration.
- Failure due to residual and/or negligent breakdown(e.g. operator error, power fluctuations are automatically included).
- Full time and materials repair costs without deduction of any excess.
- Optional temporary loan equipment for faults prolonged over 24 hours.
- Guaranteed 4 or 8 working hours engineering response.
Additional Benefits of "Premier" Scheme
- Use of Burnetts principal recommended engineers.
- Print heads and fuser units included.
- Automatic inclusion of additional equipment, subject to quarterly, biannual or annual declaration and adjustment.
- CRTs, keyboards, mice and laptop screens included.
- Broken connectors, key tops and platen knobs included.
- Sticky labels on platens or in floppy drives, and media jams included.
- "No fault found" included.
- Reconfiguration of operating system following an "insured" fault.
It is impossible to list all likely combinations of circumstances, which may potentially give rise to a valid claim. The above examples serve to illustrate the main categories. A specimen copy is available on request.
However in the interest of giving a fair representation we detail below the main events, which are not covered.
Typical events not covered
The following are examples only of events and circumstances, which are not intended to be covered under any class of cover under our scheme.
- Software viruses causing nuisance only
- Engineering Change Orders
- Software Revisions or Enhancements
- No Fault Found - unless subsequently proven to be an intermittent fault (basic cover only)
- Wrongly set operator controls e.g. Equipment turned off or not plugged in
- Improperly configured equipment e.g. Mismatched, wrongly set up or interconnected
- Software or Firmware 'bugs'
- Media Problems e.g. Faulty Ribbons Toner, Diskettes, Paper, etc.
- Consumables or Limited Life elements as manufacturer defined e.g. Fusers, Developers, Drums, OPC Units, Ozone Filters in Lasers, Batteries, certain Printheads
- Preventative Maintenance
- Cleaning
- Denial of Access e.g. Client not available to receive or instruct engineer
- Cosmetic Damage
